Spring - Or just my imagination?

Since I started beadweaving I can hardly think about anything other than color.  Especially when the days are grey and dull outside.  I grabbed the middle bracelet for myself...sorry...but the other two are for sale Here.

My website is back up so now I am able to maintain it myself.  I will get all the new pictures on there very soon.

This will slow me down

Yesterday I had surgery on my right foot. A bunion has been causing more and more pain so after one cancellation, I figured there was no more time to put it off. I was awake for the whole procedure. The Doc put needles in about a dozen places in order to freeze the foot. That was definitely uncomfortable. They told me I was doing fine and I asked, "why... Do some folks not do okay with it?". The Doctor laughed and said some scream and one person passed right out so they had to cancel their surgery. I was somewhat shocked as while it did hurt - I couldn't see myself screaming. I have been told before that I have a high pain tolerance so now I believe it. I see the Doc in two days and then I hope he sends me home. I am having fun getting around on crutches as there is to be absolutely NO weight bearing on that foot for two weeks. This is going to slow me down for a while!

A lovely bunch of new beads AND new books

What could be more inspiring and exciting than to go to the post office and pick up two orders of seed beads and four books!
I can safely say, I'm getting into Beaded Colorways first because I love color.  I can also say it was a cruel thing to order four books at one time.  What was I thinking?  Not regretting ordering so many beads though.  Can never have too many beads!

Lots of Catching Up to Do

Where did the last year go?  Had all the best intentions to get a website created......done - an Etsy site up and running....done - get a facebook page.......done - get a blog and keep it up......Not!  I love reading others blogs but I must admit that to write something for myself is not an easy thing to do.  My excuses to myself are that I'm too busy creating and keeping up but no, let's be honest my website is not up to date either.  I love designing and creating jewelry but to keep all the internet media going is a struggle for me at the moment.

I believe that 2012 will be a much more productive year.  These are some of my latest works.

I have some new designs in the works, and new beads ordered so maybe that will be my inspiration to get moving.  Keep checking back just in case I'm right!

Think Spring - Think Honeysuckle

According to the calendar spring arrived weeks ago but outside there is still snow!  It's melting though because my dogs sure get muddy feet when they go for a walk.   According to Pantone - the color of the year is called Honeysuckle.  It is a vibrant feel good red-pink and quite flattering I must say.  You can check out all the 2011 Pantone colors at http://www.pantone.com/ plus lots of fashion ideas.

So to celebrate spring I made this bracelet.  If it doesn't make you feel like spring has arrived - then I don't know what will.

Oh Canada - necklace

I've had this Silver PMC pendant for awhile- had it stashed away with an eye for making something for myself.  Today I put it on a simple ball chain and listed it on Etsy.   Oh well, I know where it is and if it doesn't sell.....you know who will be wearing it.

Busy but back in Alberta

I devoted my time in BC to finding a web designer to develop a website.  I had an idea what I wanted since I'm a natural, earthy, country girl - it had to have an aged rustic feel.  I found some scrapbook papers that I loved (yes, you heard right) and my web designer guy scanned them and voila! we had the background colors.  He did a great job - was very prompt and in about a week, it was up and running.  I'm very happy with it and I think you will be too.  Check it out and let me know what you think.

I'm now selling my hand crafted jewelry on Etsy:

Now the pressure is on...I need to get busy creating more as I have sold 4 pieces within a week.  Yay for me!
